A Little Frightening, but Okay in My Book

This is great. I have always been touchy about my Southern heritage. I was always kind of proud to be unique and from a sweet slow place like The South. However, up until the last two years, the South that I knew was one of grandmothers and sweet tea. My extended family and my friends are all intelligent and even if they are Republican, generally have well thought out ideas and opinions about their political beliefs.

However, I have finally and unwillingly been exposed to the other side of the South. The evil, racist, willfully ignorant side. Intelligence and difference are feared and Fox News doesn't even apply because no one bothers to watch the news, biased or not.

It is really exhausting to live here.
